Summer Camp Need to Knows
Summer camp is such an enriching time for children and we are so grateful you are considering sending your child to SewBo!
How old does my child have to be to attend summer camp?
We offer camps for kids between the ages of 7-17. Our morning and afternoon camps are designed for kids ages 7-14 and our late afternoon teen camps are designed for older youth, ages 13-17.
We do have some age minimums on specific camps so please be sure to read the age requirement for your particular camp.
Can my child bring a project from home during camp?
No. Our team spends a lot of time designing projects for summer camp. In order to teach effectively, all students will be working on the same projects throughout the week.
Older youth teen camp does have room for students to bring projects they would like to work on.
Do you have full day camps?
We do offer full day options for kids ages 9 -14.
To sign up for a full day, book an AM and PM session separately and add the "lunchtime open sew" to that week as well.
Sewing all day is challenging for younger kids (it's even hard for adults!) so we recommend that your child is at least 9 years old to participate in a full day of sewing camp.
Do you offer sibling discounts for summer camps?
Due to the limited amount of students we can have in our camps, we are not able to offer discounts for siblings.
Do you have a waitlist for sold out Summer Camps?
We do! We often get cancellations and are happy to put your name on a waitlist for our camps.
What if I know I'm going to miss one day of summer camp? Will you prorate the class cost?
We do not prorate summer camps registrations. You are welcome to miss a day of camp due to prior commitments but we do not prorate the cost of the camp and we cannot guarantee your child will be able to finish their project.
What is your cancellation policy around summer camps?
Summer Camp registration can be refunded 30 days before the start date of any camp (less a 10% cancellation fee). If cancellation is requested within 30-14 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different camp or a credit can be given for use at a future camp or series. No transfers can be made within 14 days of the start date of any class.
Do you offer early or late drop-off/pick up
You may drop your child off up to ten minutes early and pick them up ten minutes late, however it is important that your child knows that they cannot be in the studio during that time as our teachers are prepping for class. We have an outdoor patio where students may hang out before or after class while waiting for their adult to arrive.
Please do not bring your child earlier than ten minutes to camp or leave them longer than 10 minutes after camp. If you need more flexibility for mid-day transitions, you can book the "Lunchtime Open Sew" and your child is welcome to have lunch and do a little sewing while they wait for you to pick them up or if you need to drop them off early for their afternoon session.
Thank you for your understanding!
SewBo is a small business and we do our best to work with the needs of family's and people's busy lives. We also respect the time and talents of our teaching team and staff and wish to create a loving and supportive environment for makers of all levels. Thank you for supporting us and understanding that we need to have policies in place to remain successful.
